Green hydrogen offers promising prospects

In addition to the prospects for green hydrogen as a valuable export commodity, the future hydrogen industry in Oman would offer an industrial and energy policy opportunity for the country’s sustainable economic development.

From the point of view of the German company Hydrogen Rise AG, these would be the right steps for a future-oriented investment in industrial and petrochemical projects, which produce green hydrogen, green ammonia and synthetic fuel, among other things.
Dr.-Ing. Bernd Wiemann, CEO of Hydrogen Rise AG, a German company specializing in energy industry transformation, spoke of tangible potential for a new economic sector based on “green hydrogen”. Several key factors speak for Oman: highly competitive costs for renewable energies, energy expertise, geographical location, availability of land and international reputation.

Exports of hydrogen are estimated at 20 billion US dollars per year, he added.
